Skin warts are caused by the Human Papilloma virus (HPV). There are several kinds of skin warts with different features and locations on the body. These includes:

1.) Common Warts - Usually found on finger and hand mainly in children as their immune system is not fully develop. The warts are small, rounded and elevated hard lumps. They are pink or flesh colored.

2.) Flat Wart - Usually found all over the body of infected children. Adults will find them at the areas of shaving. Shaving will cause the flat wart to break and spread.

3.) Filiform Wart - Usually found on the neck and face. Usually thin and thread like.

4.) Digitate Warts - Usually found around the hairline and on the scalp. They are finger like extension with a pea shaped base.

As mentioned above, most warts are harmless, but it is still nice to know for sure.  If you have health insurance coverage, you will find that this visit, as well as the wart removal, should be covered.  If this is the case, there is nothing that you should stop you or prevent you from visiting your physician.
